Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used for at
least five thousand years. It is a complete health system
comprising of acupuncture, acupressure, herbal medicine and
massage (Tui-na). It also puts emphasis on exercise,
nutrition and healthy living.
Chinese medicine uses the concept of Qi, meaning "energy
flow". Health exists when adequate Qi and blood, flow
smoothly through all parts of the human body. Factors
that disturb it (such as climate, emotions, diet and
lifestyle) create the disharmony between Yin and Yang. These
imbalances between Yin and Yang can be restored by
acupuncture treatment and herbal medicine.
Chinese traditional medicine does not have the aggressive
and invasive action of modern drugs. Instead of negative
side effects, long-term application would increase the
body's immune capacity.
